Wisdom tooth clot opens?

Just wondering, I recently got my wisdom teeth removed and everything is healing fine. It has been about 4 days and the sockets were able to clot the first day. However, I just discovered that one of the sockets have opened (probably from eating) so I am going to see my dentist tomorrow. I was just wondering if this is still considered a dry socket or what it would be and what I would need to do other then whatever my dentist says. Also, the wound hasn't started hurting which makes me think that it is still going to be alright...but it is obvious that the hole is there so I was curious...

Soreness around molar crown?

Any opinion from a dentist would be greatly appreciated! I had a root canal and crown on tooth 15 in 2007. No problems until the last couple of days when I've started experiencing some discomfort and I can't really chew on that side now. I have NO hot or cold sensitivity, and it's not a sharp pain, but feels more like pressure soreness. It reminds me of the kind of pain after I had my braces tightened when I was young. I have an appointment to get this seen, but it's not for a few days and I'd like some thoughts as to what it could be? Is it possible for permanent crowns to shift around a little and cause this kind of discomfort? I'm scared to death that it's something bad that would require extraction. Thanks for any input!

Worst day ever...What should I do??? :(?

This is the worst day I've ever had being in the fifth-grade. Okay so this is what happened. This girl name Raylette her mother came to the my school last Friday and said stuff about me calling Raylette names. I never called her name. I just said to myself once " Why is she on my field day team?" The only I said that was because Raylette is a slow runner. But her mother said a whole bunch of other things that I didn't even say to her. So that's what happened in Mrs.Contarino's office. Okay so this is what made my day go even worse. During lunchtime my lunch teacher, Mrs.Woodstock, was being so mean to me. She made my table go last on the lunch line because I was apart of the table. I asked her to poke a hole in my shoe because it was dangling everywhere. Usually she would oh sure honey. But she this time no, go sit down. The only reason she was being mean to me was because Mrs.Contarino told her what happened in the office! And I repeat, I barely did anything to Raylette! Then during science I was doing a funny dance and my teacher Mr.Weber called my friend and Devin (she's a girl) up to his desk. He told us to stop laughing and why were we laugh. I told him what I was doing and he asked me why was I doing a funny dance. I didn't know what to answer so I just like stood there. Then Mr.Weber told me I shouldn't be fooling around because I was the girl that was in the office today and if he sees me fooling around like this again I'm going to be sent to Mrs.Contarino's office again. At the end of the day I thought my best friend Julia was mad at me. But then my friend Michael told me she wasn't mad at me. So at the end of the day Julia came up to me and asked why would I think she was at me. I decided to make a joke out if and said "Because I have bugger boobs than you." Then Mr.Weber was coming back to the classroom so I tried to grab my back pack to run back to my desk quickly. But he called me up and said "How many time do I have to stop you from talking and fooling around?" After he told me "That's it your going to Mrs.Contarino's office." I said " But Mr.Weber I'm sorry and he said " But no! I specifically told you to stop and you didn't listen. I got sad and sat down at my seat and started to cry. I cried walking to my bus, going on my bus, going on my bus and the entire bus ride home. When I was walking home I even cried more. My older sis Mina asked me what was wing but I ran into my mom's room. She knocked on the door but I wouldn't let her in. I felt bad so I let her in. I think it's really awsome that you have only had two cavities and you're a teenager. Do you have a spin brush or an electric toothbrush? If not, get one. The spin brush is under $10 and does such a great job of cleaning your teeth. I noticed a big improvement when I started using it. Other than that, watch sugary treats and soda. Drink more water. The trial begins and a jury is sworn in, victim 1 gives his account and is ripped to bits by a lawyer, the same happens to victim 2. then a witness for them is called he gives his evidence and is only questioned by the prosecutor. After his evidence is given the judge asks for the court to be cleared, the witness is waiting to be questioned by the lawyers but is told he can go home because the accused have pleaded guilty, and have be bailed to go back at a later date(one of the accused was refused bail several times before the hearing). but is allowed bail this time. What has gone on here, and what does it all mean? all this happened 3 days into the trial. also would the judge been aware of the accuseds criminal record? (he has loads of previous). Could someone please help because on one is really telling them anything could they get off its 2 serious assults on one accused and 1 on the other we are uk based

Laughing Gas Fainting?

I play a ton of tennis and at times have nearly fainted on the court for no clear reason. I learned that if I drink gatorade before and during matches I don't have any problems, so the issue may lie with sugar consumption. But I recently went to the dentist to have my wisdom teeth removed, and started to pass out during the laughing gas. I didn't panic because of the mask nor did I panic because of the IV I was getting at the same time. I felt far better after I was switched back to breathing normal O2. I hadn't eaten or drinking anything in maybe 17 hours, so could the nitrous oxide have reduced my oxygen intake enough to resemble a state of exercise, and an obvious lack of sugar caused me to nearly faint? Or is that the purpose of laughing gas, making you feel faint? One thing is for sure, I'm familiar with the feeling that I had, one of sickness and confusion. I can't imagine that's the purpose of the gas, as others who have had similar procedures describe a warm interesting sensation. Thanks!

Should I have to pay for a crown lengthening if I just had a crown put on that same tooth one year ago?

I had a crown put on my tooth (3rd tooth from back) just one year ago and it had been bothering me for a few weeks so I went to the dentist yesterday. As I was having my cleaning done the technician was asking about the crown and when she touched it the crown basically just popped off. The odor was very foul as if there was either food caught in there or rotting occurring below the crown for who knows how long. My question is considering I paid for a crown only one year ago via the same dentist and now this dentist is suggesting that I have a "crown lengthening" for a hefty fee should I be liable for paying for this or did the dentist make an error with my original crown? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

It seems to be a slow growing cyst, but i am concerned nonetheless. It is due to an old issue when I fractured my Right Front Tooth, #10, back in 2000 or so. I believe that the dentist probably did not fill in the dead root space adequately thus this infection/cyst/? has resulted. The dentist said it has been growing for years, i just never felt or noticed a change until my cap/crown fell off post and all, thats when i went to the dentist and was told that the x ray showed a cyst ( dark area that fades into bone), another issue is that it is eating up the bone that is sustaining the next tooth over up. #9, .....What procedure is needed? How much will it cost? Is there a way to minimize the cost? Is there an Insurance that will cover pre-existing conditions? I believe this whole ordeal to be a hassle and a burden on my finances. Braces, what happens?

first they have you lick your lips then they put this plastic thing in your mouth to help your keep your mouth open. it has plastic strip in it that i personally use to hide my tongue behind because i hate dentist touching my tongue also :P. then they put a cement on your teeth ( sounds weird but trust me you can't even tell what their doing) then they put little brackets where the cement is again trust me you barely feel it. then they take this purple light ( it's super cool looking) and shine it onto the bracets and let the cement dry. then they have to take these metal bands that they stick on you very last back tooth on each side of your mouth. they just fit it around the tooth and have you bite down. then they run a wire threw the bracets and attach it to the band in the back then they put little rubber bands into the bracets. fun part: you get to pick the colors :) then they take out the plastic thing that holds your mouth open and they have you brush your teeth. all throughout sticking the braces on they will be rinsing and drying and rinsing and drying with that thing that blows out water and that thing that blows air/ sucks water. good luck and don't worry braces aren't as big a deal as they may sound. p.s. if you get yellow rubber bands your teeth look dirty and black rubber bands look like cavities and white rubber bands change color when you eat. and don't worry your tongue should be safe :P good luck hope this helps.

In my case I am charged with robbery with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm as a delinquent they evidence they have is a gun which is in my girlfriend's name and registered a purse with no identification and 2 made-up statements saying they did the crime because the detectives made them say it and its been 3 months now and the victim has written two letters the first one stating she wants the charges dropped and that she wants no jail time for the defendants. Then at court they said just no one will get any jail time then the Friday of that week she sent another letter stating that she wanted nothing to do with this case and she wants the charges dropped and these people out of jail to their family's and they don't need to have felony's on their record at such a young age and if she must go to court she will plead the fifth and they are wasting their time and money into this case. Metal retainers get the teeth that are sticking out to go back where they should be. They are usually really effective. I have train tracks and they only hurt when I get them tightened. My friends have blocks and apparently they don't really hurt! Not sure about the retainers. My friend just recently got hers removed and her teeth look amazing. After braces you get your teeth whitened for free (if your under 18) and you get given a retainer usually just to wear it over night to stop your teeth moving back! My advise it if you are offered them then take them because you will probably regret it when your older. Hope this helped.

Severe pain after root canal?

I'm 15 and I just had a root canal 3 days ago. I've had 3 other root canals and it has NEVER hurt this bad before. The dentist gave me Tylenol 4 and ibuprofen to take in between. I had quite a disturbing dream last night and need some insight. ?

In this dream I arrived to a party on a field in a friends car. Once I got there a gang member came up to me and tried to take the car and I wouldn't let him. He told me to leave and I couldn't I had friends waiting for me and was going to hurt me but an old aquintance from school was there and told him to spare me, however they kept trying to take the car. My fianc�e was drunk and came up to defend me and threatened to hurt them if they didn't leave me alone. He pointed a fake gun at one of them when they threatened to hurt us. I took the car keys away which really aggravated the gang members who were sitting in the car while I was outside of the car. My close friend "Mina" was there and I told her what happened. She said that my fianc�e should be careful sticking up for me and the next thing I know I look over to a far corner of the field where my fianc�e is laying on the floor bloody with a medical examiner next to him...he is dead. I cry hysterically because I know who did it tho I didn't see it happen I grab him and cry with him in my arms as the medical examiner yells at me to leave him alone it's a crime scene lady!! Then I wake up, I assumed when I woke up that he was shot but in my dream I didn't hear gunshots nor did I see stab wounds on his body in the dream but he was very bloody. Canker sores after tooth extracted?

I had my second to last top molar pulled the other day due to root resorption. I am scheduled for an implant in 2 weeks. It didn't hurt one bit. The next morning I was a little swollen, and there was a little pain where the noNovocaineas injected, but nothing bad. Now, today, the 3rd day, I have this horrible pain, but its not from where the tooth was pulled...I developed these canker sores on the tops of my gums above where the tooth was pulled, but not right next to the extraction site, at the very top of my gums, where it joins my cheek, and there's about 2 or 3 of them. I get them every now and them from trauma to my gums (like if I slip brushing, or stab myself with something I eat-like potato chips, etc) But that's not the case here...I think maybe the dentist's instruments may have done this? They didnt mention that they slipped or that I would develop canker sores. It hurts really bad...but not from the extraction. Is this normal, and what can I do to help them heal faster?

yes you can keep a horse in a field all year round, I do, i reckon it can be healthier for the horse, and yes you can look after it, like grooming in the shelter or tie it to a peice of twine on a post either way is okay, I would personally fence off a small bit of the field for farriers, vets ect. and its always a good idea to have a collection of rugs for a field kept horse.

I have been feeling weird today, started off with a sore stomach then moved onto my legs and arms were total agony and then a pain in my lower back started, the pain is ok when I am lying down but certain ways I move or when I walk, its unbearable. But to get back to my story, see. Let's say they obtain a search warrant to search your house for the purpose of planting some evidence in your house (say the weapon found at the crime scene---maybe they intend to toss it underneath your mattress and are going to pretend to "find" it there. And you know they intend to do this and you know that even though your finger prints aren't on this weapon they intend to frame you with, it will be enough for the jury to send you away for life. Now, the question is, they're at your door, pounding and demanding to be let in. What do you do? The best thing I could think of, would be to have my lawyer there with me and I would demand that I be allowed to remain in the house while they search in order to record it on camera. Because legally, if they have a search warrant, you can't stop from coming in. What would you do?

Good prose. I would say it should be alive but only in an abstract sort of way. not directly. Perhaps something is causing it to live like a spirit or an emotional energy. Casey Anthony Guilty?

I've been following this trial since the beginning, and now that the defense is taking over, it's making me worried that the jury is going to buy into Jose Baez's lies and ridiculous stories. I have thought that Casey Anthony was guilty from day one... however, her defense is doing all they can to have "expert" witness's go against the prosecution(which I understand is what they are supposed to do). I think it is absolutely sickening. I am a mother and my daughter passed away when she was a month and half old, and the thought of a mother killing her child with no remorse or care is horrible. I have found I have two cavities and I haven't been to the dentist in about 2 years, I'm scared of what they'll do and think.

Well first of all, if you still have your baby teeth, maybe you could wait out on fixing your teeth. Once you have your adult teeth, then its worth it to invest on whitening solutions. As for the gaps, you could go to an orthodontist and get braces or invisalign trays. But sometimes, gaps aren't fixable and you'll just have to deal with it. For now, I suggest brushing and flossing atleast twice a day , using mouthwash and a tongue scraper to freshen your breath, and a whitening toothpaste if you'd like.

I think this is a very great question that I thought of. Since you're considered an adult in court when you are 17, what would happen if a cop catches you smoking and finds out you're 17 and gives you a ticket and you go to court and fight the ticket? Confused between rn and dentistry, which will suit me?

I just failed out n nursing school by 2 points. I don't know if I'm discouraged or if that is not my calling. Now that I did my clinical and also I'm a nurse assistant, it's pretty boring to me. Now it suits me in one way, I could always change specialties, it's more broaden then a dentist, but still I don't feel stroganoff about it. Now with dentistry, I'm always excited to toto the dentist, always have been since I was small, crazy right? im a stay at home mom and i requested to be denied because i have no babysitter or transportation. well the judge said i was denied because he dont care if you have kids or not and that i have to show up. i explained that if i show up my kids will be with me then and they said they wont be allowed in the courtroom. well my kids are too young to be left alone they are only 4 yrs and 1 yrs old. so what can i do?

I had my braces on for 4 years! I was in the sixth grade when I got mine! It doesn't hurt to get braces onn! But, if you don't lose your teeth they'll pull them, which isn't a big deal! I had like 6 pulled when I was like 9, it's just the though of it hurting! people go through this everyday! I was told years ago by my dentist that they don't even use the silver anymore. Only the white. That's bulls*** they did that without discussing it with you. Maybe you can sue them. However I really don't think they can redo it but I may be wrong.

Cavities in a 2 year old?

All of my five kids started seeing the dentist at about one or one and a half. We brushed (and they do on their own now) their teeth regularly and flossed daily. None of my kids had any cavities until one of my twins just recently. They are identical in every way, they eat the same, they brush their teeth with the same type of toothbrush and paste and at the same time. They don't drink soda, kool-aid or tea. They have the same diets and dental routines but one has perfect teeth with no cavities and the other has cavities on both sides of her mouth and even has a little bit of nerve damage on one of the teeth. Our normal pediatric dentist doesn't fix cavities on children that young and referred us to an pediatric oral surgeon about an hour away. This is because they usually want to sedate and use laughing gas on children this young to eliminate any fear later on in life and so that they are not traumatized. The side effects of sedation are minimal to the damage that can be done to the nerves if the cavities go without being delt with, even though they will loose them eventually. Don't get yourself down, our dentist told us that some kids just have bad teeth, and some kids can go without brushing and have no problems. As long as you are keeping her teeth clean and limiting the sugary drinks that can coat her teeth and just stay there, you are doing great. One of my daughters issues may be that they drink soy milk, which can be very sweet, but the dentist still told me that there are kids that just have bad teeth. Make sure you prep your daughter lots before the appointment. The thing that scared my kids the most was the size of the dentist chair and when it lay ed all the way back flat. Good luck

Why are my braces hurting so much?!?

Got bottom in April and got top a month ago. Yesterday went to get my colors changed and they changed my wire. Its not supposed to hurt but on my right side of the mouth my braces are HURTING so badly i cant even eat and it hurts sometimes to talk. I took advil but that didnt work. My left side is completely great> My right is too tight i asked my dentist yesterday she said it would go away really soon. IT HURTS LIKE CRAZY! Any advice and when this will go away? Im leaving for europe tomorrow and i dont want this pain! x

ihave acid reflux or gerd whatever you want to call it and a week ago i went to the dentist to get my teeth removed so i had been put on penicillin and vicoden since i was on and went through my medication i i havent coughed i was assuming because i wasnt even able to eat or drink soft drinks i rarely spit since i used to spit when phlegm would build up and now im off the meds and when i eat or drink the coughs that would usually be caused by the acid have just vanished and ive been dealing with these coughts for years is it the antiobiotic that had an effect or is it the lack of food since i couldnt eat while my teeth were healing

How much do emotions play into murder court cases?

I was wondering about this, after hearing of it a lot. A serious crime such as a murder is committed, then when on trial, sometimes it's the murderer, other times it's an innocent person, but they are quick to be blamed due to how they come off as emotionally withdrawn and almost robotic. Now this was personally scary to me, because that's what I do under stress. I become very apathetic and detached. Despite that, I'm a sensitive, pacifistic person, who believes in the law. I thought to myself, so if I just happened to be a suspect for murder I could go to prison simply because the jury and or Judge, thought I was guilty based upon my emotional response?

What is this large bump on my gum?

I'm 15 and i still have a baby tooth. it was becoming a little loose today so i was trying to loosen it some more so i can pull it out. after a few hours this big bump appeared on my gum above the loose tooth. it started to throb really bad and the side of my mouth started hurting.. i am in bad pain. my dad gave me some gel that numbs it temporarily. i can still feel it pulsating but its numb.. what is this bump? my parents are gonna set up a dentist appt. tomorrow so what will happen? will they pull the tooth for me? and will i get any medications if i do for after?

Home remedies for an abscess tooth?

i have had a bad tooth for over a year and a half... i only have like half of a tooth. top right side of my mouth, i was having a horrbile toothache the other night so i went to the hospital, they gave me pain pills and anit biotics. the day after my face was huge swollen, last night i went to a different hospital and they gave me different(stronger) anti biotics and more pain killers... today, my face is STILL swollen, looks like i have a black eye, ANDDD now a blister thing on my gums(abcsess?) i have tried using a needle to pop the blister thing, but it hasnt worked. i have been taking my anti biotics and putting an ice pack on my cheek, and rinsing my mouth out with salt water alot all day long, but my face is still swollen. i have an interview tomorrow morning, and i need to know what to do to make my face not so swollen. just until i can get into a dentist. PLEASE HELPPP!!!

Caps on teeth and pain?

When I had my wisdom teeth extracted I had laughing gas as well as Novocaine... maybe eight shots of it and still felt parts of the extraction. It was a horrible experience and worsened my fear of the dentist a bit more. I am getting caps on my front teeth and am terrified about the pain. How bad is the pain and what kind of pain is it? How much Novocaine did you get with this level of pain?
