I had a filling put in between my back teeth and now when i floss it hurts to pull the floss up between them.?

the dentist says i grind my teeth and that's what's causing the pain although i doubt that. does this happen to anyone else? he says the filling is fine, no issues, no more cavity ... any suggestions would be helpful.
