Having my wisdom teeth out and I am on birth control?

I am scheduled to get my wisdom teeth out in 2 weeks, but next week my dentist's office is on vacation. I take birth control, and just read that taking it can increase the chances of dry socket. What should I do? Should I just not take it? I really just want to get this over with, the whole reason I am getting the teeth removed is because they have been hurting.
