I have a tiny dark dot on my tooth.?

It's on the biting surface, and it's been there quite a while, but it doesn't hurt. When I went to the dentist for a check up ,he didn't say anything was wrong, nor did my orthodontist. I'm not sure what it is. Any ideas? Please and thankyou. :]
