I'm getting braces for the first time.. Help!?

okay so i'm 14,braces on in 4 days. I just wanna know what are the best colours to get. Least noticeable. What actually happens when you're there. I'm having top set one week.bottom next. How long each time? Pain level outta 10 for whenever you felt pain. Whoever reads this and thinks i'm an idiot, no i'm an anxious girl who is scared for braces >.< i also have a weird phobia of dentists touching my tongue, but i.ve heard they dont touch it
