Should the house be alive?

Good prose. I would say it should be alive but only in an abstract sort of way. not directly. Perhaps something is causing it to live like a spirit or an emotional energy. Possibly it is only alive in the subconscious of the people who live there or died there. Whatever you choose to do I think the story would be more interesting if the house wasnt blatantly portrayed as living. Maybe the characters think its living at first. I dunno just a thought.
