Will my broken bracket set back my progress ?

Well , I broke my bracket a way long time ago. It's like this holder that's attached to my top molars . I haven't been able to get it fixed because first I had to get this tooth removed , but it cost 175$. My mom hasn't been able to get the money up until now . My appointment is on the 13th. After that I guess I'll go to the orthodontist. I've had my braces for about 3 years . First I got them off , but I lost my retainer which set me back so I had to get them back on . Now , I really want them back off !! But I think my broken bracket has set me back . My overbite is small , but still a bit noticeable . My dentist said we would be able to get them almost perfect with a tiny overbite . ;/ Please help , I'm really ready to take care of my teeth and braces ! Before I was a real slacker .
